Ellen is a specialist in strategy and programme delivery, and is now Executive Director of the suicide prevention charity James’ Place. Prior to this she was Head of Programmes at The Royal Foundation and Director of Health Promotion Programmes at Movember. She headed up the Strategy and Planning team at Public Health England, working on their world-leading behaviour change campaigns.
As a consultant, Ellen was Director of The Ladder Consultancy, a public policy communications agency she founded to work on health, education and social equality, and was previously a board director at Forster Communications. With a 20-year track record of not-for-profit work, Ellen has worked with clients including the British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research UK, The Stroke Association, King’s Fund and the Departments of Health, Transport and Communities and Local Government.
She was a Trustee of the charity Tiny Tickers and of the drugs and alcohol charity Mentor UK, and has been a Governor at primary schools in Haringey and Hackney.
